NICO MIGUEL (Guitar)

Nico grew up in Irvine, California. In addition to playing the clarinet, trombone, and alto saxophone in school concert bands, he discovered the guitar - along with artists like John Mayer, BB King, and U2 - in eighth grade. This inspired him to play for/direct numerous concerts, praise nights, and even missions trips to the Philippines and Mexico with his church.

After graduating from Irvine High School, Nico attended Irvine Valley College to finish his general education. In the meantime, he took classical guitar classes and joined the IVC Jazz Ensemble (directed by Dan St. Marseille). As a result, he discovered the music of Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, Miles Davis, and Kenny Burrell. It was around this time that Nico began playing at private events and teaching private lessons around Orange County.

In October of 2015, Nico started working towards an AA degree in Guitar Performance at the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena, California. Since then, he’s learned from teachers like Adam Levy (Norah Jones) and Brad Rabuchin (Ray Charles) while tutoring his fellow students. He’s also been able to play with musicians like Billy Cobham, (Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orchestra) and songwriting duo JoLi (writers of “Everything Is Awesome!!!” from the LEGO Movie) at Comic-Con Palm Springs.

On the weekends, you can find Nico serving as Music Director at Center Church in Irvine.
